May 14, 2010: Kristie and Vu's Engagement Ceremony.

While Josephine and I were gone in the great state of California, the rest of the crew helped cover Kristie and Vu's engagement ceremony in Houston. Congratulations to these two guys! There were a lot of family here and a lot of fun. Josephine and I missed out on a great family event, but we'll just have to make it to their wedding in January 2011!

May 12, 2010: Lan's Graduation.

So not too long after our trip to Dallas, we caught a ride to LA! Our good friend Lan got us an all expenses paid trip to LA... Almost all expenses paid. Josephine had to shop of course! Other than getting in a little trouble for taking some pictures at disney land that I wasn't supposed to take, it was such an incredibly fun trip! I'd gladly shoot for free to go to LA again! Thanks so much Lan and Braeden!

I chose this shot because I think it pretty much represents our entire trip in a nutshell... fun in the sun in CALI!

May 02, 2010: Minu and Anthony's Engagement Portraits.

So after our semi-long wedding on Saturday May 1st, 2010, we went straight to Dallas to start shooting Minu and Anthony's engagement portraits. We went a little early so we can scout out some locations. Minu had a few places in mind which definitely helped us since we haven't shot much in Dallas. We also came across some amazing bluebonnet fields about an hour south of Dallas that we just simply had to take them to. May 01, 2010: Melissa and Khawer's Wedding.

April was a quiet month for us with a few gigs here and there. We shot a School Opera for the Post Oak School however, we aren't allowed to post any videos or pictures from it anywhere. So here is our next event in May. Melissa and Khawer's wedding. This was a traditional Ceremony that was also very modern. It was definitely interesting to see these two cultures together. We worked with a great DJ as well, www.musicbymitch.net. Special thanks to Mike from www.teamshiftpoint.com and Danh Phan as always for helping out with the video and to Josephine and Harrison with their help in the photos Congratulations to this lovely couple and we hope you enjoy the weather in Dallas!

March 27, 2010: Melissa and Khawer's Engagement Portraits.

Who would've thought that Sugarland Town Center could look this good in photos? Well I'm sure a lot of you reading this knew that but I'm not from that area and it definitely looks great. Thanks a lot to Melissa and Khawer for the suggestion for shooting out there. It's always nice to have brides that know exactly what they want. I chose this photo because I feel that it shows off the Sugarland Towncenter that doesn't make it look like other towncenters. March 20, 2010: Elizabeth and Loc's WEdding.

The clouds covered the cold Houston sky as trays covered in red silk fabric traveled in lines carried by beloved family members on Loc's side of the wedding. The morning breeze was chilly. After the wedding ceremony, we tried to go over to Costas' beautiful church to try to find a warm place to shoot indoors but we just had no place to go but inside the Galleria. It was simply too cold to work outside. Today we shot both video and photo for Elizabeth and Loc so we called our friend Costas from www.photographybycostas.com who does amazing photography work. We needed help on the photography end. Also special thanks to Danh from www.danhphan.com and Mike from www.teamshiftpoint.com for all their help on shooting.

March 18, 2010: Tx2k10 Coverage.

This time of year, it's generally not very cold. However, this particular year's winter lingered around a little longer than usual. This was great news for Tx2k10 which is an annual meeting of the greatest performance shops and their cars around the Nation. They converge here in Houston, Tx for a 4 day event from Thursday to Sunday. The events include a Track Race Day, Dyno Day, Show and Shine Car Show and a Test and Tune Drag Day. This is our video coverage from the event this year. This was our first time with actual coverage. Enjoy!

March 12, 2010: Elizabeth and Loc's Engagement photos.

February 13, 2010: Audrey and Nym's Wedding.

Oh Man! Audrey and Nym are MARRIED! Finally after so many MONTHS AND MONTHS of planning this Love story has closed a chapter in their epic novel and begun a new Chapter in their lives. I hope more words are written on these pages of their lives and they live happily ever after! This photo I chose really sums up their relationship together... Unpredictable, exciting and FUN!

Now this was definitely a crash coarse! I got a call from Matt sometime in mid January and we shot his engagement portraits, her bridal portraits and got everything ready just before his wedding all in one week. January 02, 2010: Duyen and Dat's Engagement Ceremony.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Duyen and Dat were engaged today. This was their engagement ceremony. The Vietnamese Culture has a tradition where the groom's family travels to the bride's family bearing gifts and offerings to the Bride's family in hopes that they will accept the Groom's offerings and accept his hand in marriage. This is only tradition of course since these two knew long before this ceremony took place that they would be getting engaged. It's sort of like a miniature wedding... A preview of things to come when the real wedding comes along.

December 20, 2009: May and Tommy's Engagement Ceremony.

Ahh, the spirit of Christmas lingers on and this can be noted from these cheery photos. Everytime I see sparkling Christmas lights it reminds me of cold weather (my favorite), hot cocoa, and PRESENTS! This is why I chose this photo from May and Tommy's engagement ceremony. These are always really tight and sometimes difficult to work with due to the people to room capacity ratio. No doubt, that if there was a fire marshall nearby, there would definitely be citations being handed out. However, this definitely beats summer engagement ceremonies where the heat is simply unescapable.

December 13, 2009: Tracy and Kevin's Engagement Portraits.

After the Tran's Family shoot, everyone went home except for Kevin and Tracy. I've known these two for a while now and I can't even remember how. A previous life perhaps? In anycase, it's always great working with friends. Making them smile is just as rewarding as making anyone else smile but there's just something else about a friend's smile that makes it a little more truth behind it. Anyways... I chose this photo because this is one of their favorites!

December 13, 2009: Tran Family Portraits.

So I guess it's just that time of year for family portraits! One of our Brides had an interesting request for one of her portrait sessions and that was to have a family portrait session instead of a bridal session! This was a really fun experience since everyone was older. I was told they haven't been able to get everyone together for a while. So this was definitely significant in more ways than one. I chose to display this shot because it seems to show off Houston in a different kind of light. That this city can hold a moment of tranquility in the midst of winter (yet it looks like fall)!

November 20, 2009: Posoli Family Portraits.

The word spread and we got another call for some family portraits soon after the last shoot. The shoot was intended for Christmas Cards as well although I'm sure some of these shots were used for more than just that. Again, the kids feel right at home in the comfort of their own place as Josephine talked to them to make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. She's just amazing when it comes to that. November 11, 2009: Shellist Family Portraits.

We had such a great opportunity to photograph such a beautiful family. Jennifer had gotten in contact with us sometime in late October to try to schedule a shoot with the entire family (but mainly just the kids) for Christmas card photos. We felt it would be best that Jonathan and Andy would feel more comfortable at their very own home. We were able to get the two young gentlemen to relax and they fell right in love with the camera! September 12, 2009: April and Vinh's Engagement Shoot.

It was a fair and partly cloudy day in downtown Houston during April and Vinh's Engagement shoot. We met up near the Wortham Center and we just went for a stroll around downtown taking some shots. We also hit up the typical scenery places. The cloud covered the sun for most of the day, which helped even out the shadows a bit. Overall, it was a fun shoot, April challenged Vinh to an arm wrestling match. We will leave the winner of that match undisclosed for now! Afterwards, we went to grub... and it was delicious.

September 11, 2009: Annie and Jimmy's Engagement Shoot.

Annie and Jimmy are the nicest people we have ever met! When we initially met with them, Josephine and I instantly made new friends. This is always a good thing so that they can both be very relaxed and casual during the engagement shoot. We basically told them to just ignore us and be themselves! We were all pretty excited about the results.

September 5, 2009: Anna and Fan's Wedding.

Congratulations to Anna and Fan! This was such an eventful and FUN wedding. The entire crew had a lot to do and we were always doing something the whole day. The crew met up at Vietnamese Martyrs Church for a traditional Catholic Wedding. Following the wedding we cruised up I-45 to Downtown Houston for the portraits. The weather didn't seem like it was going to cooperate at first, but it pulled through for us in the end.

Once we wrapped that up, we made our way to Hotel Granduca for the bridal party to relax before the reception. This was also an opportune time for some fun, casual shots. Once it was time, we ventured to Kim Son off of Bellaire for a night of games, dinner and a whole lot of liquor!

Special thanks to Joseph, Chester, Mike and Josephine for all their help during the wedding. It wouldn't be possible without you guys!

September 03, 2009: Anna and Fan's BParties.

Quite often, we are asked to cover events such as birthday parties and quinceaneras. However, this was the first time we were asked to cover Bachelor and Bachelorette hybrid party! But of course, this request doesn't come as a surprise from our ever so ambitious Groom. Fan met his boys up at Trulucks for some fine formal dining while Anna and her girls rendezvous'd at McCormick & Schmick's for some casual time with girls over dinner. Afterwards both parties merged into one at Blue Label.

August 30, 2009: Brandon's Shoot.

I get a call from a good friend of mine in San Antonio about some work. Her friend needs some shots for his modeling portfolio and wanted something creative and unique. She lost me at "his". A male model... I had never shot one before so I figured this might be a good time to see what my mind would come up with. So a few days later, I get in contact with Brandon and he's got some really great ideas. He wants to do an athletic type shoot which got me kind of excited since my personal absolute passion is sports photography. So we schedule a shoot and Brandon has reserved two different locations... all I have to do is be creative and make them look good. Josephine wasn't able to help out due to school and work and the shoot is in San Antonio, so I got me another poor soul to help... THANKS LEE! So the two of us hopped into my car and head out west... yet again. We meet up Brandon and his friend Adel. Apparently, she is the mastermind behind the shoot... so many thanks to her for all the great ideas she had. Brandon is a really cool and chill guy and will basically do anything it takes to get the shot right. He's definitely a team player and a pleasure to work with.

Special thanks to Lee for coming out with me to San Antonio and helping out with the shoot! To Adel for holding a lightstand, the spray bottle, and all her patience and ideas. To Brandon for all his determination for the right shot. He went through a little pain for these shots!

August 28, 2009: Anna + Fan.

Anna and I grew up going to the same church. When we went to the same college, she introduced me to a lively and hysterical guy named Fan. I felt that they were a perfect fit! Now here they are getting engaged and as of September 5th, they will join lives in holy matrimony for the rest of their lives. We were cutting this shoot a little close to the wedding day, so we decided to have the shoot indoors at www.thegallery-houston.com as they are always so kind to lend us their facilities for a shoot. It was also good to shoot indoors since it was a scorcher outside!

August 18, 2009: Women Of Couture

This morning, we woke up before the sun. The coolness in the air had been lingering about all night and you could smell the dawn approaching. The stars, though few, still shimmer in our dark blue sky as we pack our bags and head west. Today, JHPhotography is heading to San Antonio to meet A'ja of www.womenofcouture.com to shoot their commercial for their line of shoes and HER energy drink. The entire production was written and produced by A'ja herself. The video production crew and I were just there to add our cinematographic ideas and to put it all on film. Josephine, Mike of www.teamshiftpoint.com, Costas of www.digitalremix.net, Lee and I cram ourselves and all our gear into Josephine's car and head west.

This was quite an interesting experience for all of us. We had never done anything quite like this before. I just knew to concentrate on the shoes! We devised some low laying rigs and set them to different locations and angles. I don't know, we tried a number of different elements with our new gear. The video was to be aired just a few days later at the Women of Couture Fashion Show. This gave us a really limited amount of time to put everything together. It was a fun, yet tiring experience. I'm just glad we all got to be a part of it. The final copy is slightly different than the vimeo video that I have at the bottom, but pretty much the same angles and direction.

Special thanks to Josephine, Mike, Costas, and Lee for dealing with me the entire day with my 6 hours of driving and 8 times listening to the same Taylor Swift song on the radio! I love it!

August 15, 2009: Sarah + Justin.

The sun is beginning to set on this warm mid August day. The temperatures are cooling yet the hair still feels hot. Ahh, yes... it's still summer here in our fair city. It was definitely... hot. Yet Sarah and Justin are such troopers. They had a LONG day filled with an engagement ceremony in the morning, and an engagement shoot at night amongst other things in between. We took these shots at a number of different locations and traveling to them were pretty fun. We had a great time like always! I can't wait for their wedding in April, it's going to be a lot of fun!

Special thanks to Josephine and Joseph for setting up the shoot, and all their hard work. Thanks to Sarah and Justin for being troopers out there even though they were pretty tired from a full day!

August 07, 2009: Trevor.

Today, my cousin Pdang and I headed out towards and past Sugarland, TX to a golf course called Sienna Plantation. I was heading out here to meet his buddy Trevor. Trevor wanted some simple shots done for his golfing portfolio. The weather was nice and the wind was nice and breezy, however the sun was coming down on us like a load of bricks. There were times where our partly cloudy skies were able to cast a nice shade for us out in the open green of Sienna's driving range and those times would feel nice and cool. For the most part, though it was a scorcher! Trevor's a nice guy and is really passionate about the game of golf as he should be. He is astounding at it. This is the kind of shoots that I enjoy: just going out on location and getting some sweet action shots.

August 1, 2009: Mimi + Victor's Wedding.

Mimi and Victor's big day is finally hear. After months and months of planning, it's finally here. Everyone converges on a plan to make an event happen for a special couple. It was another hot summer day in Houston, Tx. However, this day was not your typical Saturday. Today, Mimi and Victor celebrate the beginning of the rest of their lives together. We had such a great time at their wedding. The entire crew really enjoyed themselves even when the day presents its challenges.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Anne's Catholic Church. The church is very particular about where everyone can be during the ceremony, so we were all limited to our locations while covering the ceremony. The reception was held at La Fontaine Reception Hall. They have wonderful amenities there and keep their place so nicely. They really helped us out a lot during the reception to keep things running smoothly. Also further thanks to Josephine for helping out, Joseph and Mike for their video work, and Chester for his photos and technical support!

July 25, 2009: MSRH Track Day.

This was completely experimental for us. We recently picked up some new video gear and decided to try it out at my buddy's track day event. The day was a scorcher as are most sunny afternoons in the midst of summer. My friend Costas called me up and asked me if I wanted to come check it out since it has always been something on my to do list. I took this opportunity to take out the recently acquired video gear out for a spin in the real world. I was fairly pleased with the footage, which made editing and putting together the little video quite easy.

Personally, I had a great time. The heat was a little too much for Josephine, but she was understanding about it. Special thanks to Josephine for her patience, and to Costas from www.digitalremix.netfor all the footage on his bike as well as Allen's bike.

July 22, 2009: Mimi's Bridal Portraits.

It was a typical hot and humid mid summer day in our fair city. The sun was beating down and cooking everything in its path. It was the middle of the day in the middle of summer. We had to take refuge indoors and it had to be during this time slot due to everyone's schedule. So we paid a visit to the wonderful people at The Gallery ( www.thegallery-houston.com ). This is a wonderful Mediterranean-Style Special Events Venue. The owner there was so kind to offer us shelter from the sweltering heat of the Houston weather. They quite literally saved the photoshoot!

Mimi was an absolute NATURAL at posing and simply at being a model. It was as if she knew exactly what to do and what kind of shot I was going for! She was so incredibly easy to photograph and made the entire experience pleasant. Special thanks to Josephine, Joseph and Mike for all their hard work and help. Even though we were hiding in the midst of modern day air conditioning, we still broke a lot of sweat!

July 20, 2009: Mimi + Victor's Engagement Shoot.

I've known Mimi and Victor since undergrad and they're such a fun and awesome couple. I just feel like they click so well with Josephine and me. When we get together, we just have none stop laughs! Victor and I go off in our little world hanging and chilling, while the girls talk about us behind our backs and just laugh! This engagement shoot was one of our longest shoots that spanned quite a few locations and we all had a blast shooting it! Special thanks to Josephine for coming out and helping take photos and Michael for his video and support. Also thanks to Mimi and Victor for giving us this opportunity to film and shoot the engagement session!

July 18, 2009: John's Interview.

This was definitely a request that I'm not used to doing. So we finally stepped into the world of "Cinematic Videography". I'm chatting to my good friend Costas of www.digitalremix.net and he suddenly asks me if I could do some video for a buddy of his. Well, since we're fairly new at it, we decided to make it a full blown production! It's supposed to just be of his buddy John (www.s2kmugen.com) in front of a camera talking about his car. It's a video application for the Discovery Channel on different types of Racers around America. This is what we came up with. Just hit play and turn up the volume.

July 3, 2009: Amanda's Portraits.

Josephine gets a phone call from a good friend of hers. It's Amanda and she would like to get some headshots done for an audition. We figured since we were going to get all the gear out and have some fun, we might as well do a little more than just a simple headshot. We went out to the far east end of downtown Houston by a remote parking lot. You could get a decent view of the sunset just beyond some of the highway which is responsible for that orange background glow. We were tight on time as you can see the sun fading away as the photos progress. After it got too dark, we ventured back to base to get some indoor snaps. Now onto the shots!

June 28, 2009: Emelie + Jeff's Sunday Brunch.

The thing with Jeff is that he can be very resourceful! He wasn't going to waste our trip one bit. So we covered the Sunday Brunch also!

June 26, 2009: Emelie + Jeff's Dress Rehearsal.

Detroit here we come! Jeff is such a lively and animated person and so great to work with. Our trip to Detroit was so much fun because of Emelie and Jeff. We came out to cover the wedding rehearsal and the Sunday Brunch. This is because Jeff didn’t want us to work on his wedding day and just wanted us to enjoy their awesome party. Awesome is an understatement as an adjective to describe their wedding. Not working the wedding might have had something to do with it as well!

June 20, 2009: Shazeen + Ali.

The sun was beating down on this warm June summer day. The heat owned this Saturday so we were all thankful for Sweetwater Country Club's air conditioning! Shazeen and Ali are the nicest people ever. They helped us a lot to make the photography aspect run as smooth as possible and constantly thanked us. We were humbled. This event was awesome to photograph simply because it was so beautiful. The colors are amazing and the decorations augmented the room just right. They put a lot of work and effort to make the engagement ceremony run the way it did and it shows. Congratulations, Shazeen and Ali!

June 13, 2009: Susan + Wes.

Susan and Wes are such a lovely couple. Their wedding was really nice and a quaint one. It was very relaxing and laid back. The food was awesome! Thanks to Josephine, Tracy and Joseph for all their hard work to make everything happen photography-wise. Here are some of the snaps. Enjoy!

June 10, 2009: Shellist Family Portraits.

Bright blue sky. Soft green grass. William’s Tower Water Wall. Three adorable boys! What more could you ask for on a sunny, summer afternoon? Lori and her son Max introduced us to her sister-in-law Jennifer and her two boys, Jonathan and Andy. We had so much fun running after and catching them in action! Max loves to run anywhere and everywhere he goes! Jonathan is a hide-and-go-seeker and enjoys copying his older cousin! Sweet Andy rolls around on the puffy, white down comforter watching his cousin and brother play in the grass. Here’s to summer fun in the sun!

June 6, 2009: Bethany + Josh's Wedding.

Road trip! All our bags are packed and we're ready to go! Today we’re going to a small town smack dab in the middle of Texas named Kyle. We’re going to snap some photos for a wedding we’ve had booked and anticipated since sometime in October of 2008. It’s Bethany and Josh’s wedding, and they are such an awesome couple. The wedding was outdoors and a little hot since all of us wore our JHP attire. But other than that it was a beautiful wedding, the food was satisfying and the cake was SCRUMPTIOUS. And we got the opportunity to play with our new Canon Vixia. Ahh… yes yes I know, it’s a Canon. Until Nikon impresses me with some video equipment, I will have to stick to Canon for videos.

June 5, 2009: Debbie's Birthday.

The decorations cover the long lunch table at La Griglia Restaurant in River Oaks. The white plates and clear cups sparkle from the afternoon glare of the sun as red tulips acoompanied by pink and purple peonies augment the place settings. There are menu cards that read "Happy Birthday Debbie, Fabulous at 50!" Fabulous was in no short supply as Debbie and her friends trickle into the already busy restaurant for a birthday luncheon celebration that was covered by none other than JHP. The ladies each carry with them a brightly colored bag or carefully wrapped gift box. The atmosphere is full of hugs and laughter as all the ladies greet each other just before taking their seats.

I'd like to thank Liz for introducing us to Lori who booked this gig for us. I'd also like to thank Joseph for his video skills and Josephine for also helping with the booking and her pictures as well! It was definitely a nice break from the weddings and photoshoots. This was such a nice luncheon with many laughs and I'm just so glad that we were asked to capture the memories of her special day!

May 23, 2009: Vicky + Tony's Wedding.

Partly cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. That was the weather forecast for May 23rd 2009 in Houston, Tx. At least that's what it seemed like from what I remember. Joseph and I pull up to a soggy St. Vincent de Paul parking lot. We're about 3 minutes late. That's OK the ceremony doesn't start for another 27 minutes. Diem of www.diemphotographer.com is the main photographer and has been shooting for a few hours already. He's been covering the bride as she gets ready to partake in a day that she's probably planned since she was 13. The sun is shining at this particular spot, but you can tell there was rain afoot.

A day earlier, Josephine and I sought out to purchase a sort of camera stabilizer, and were about to try it out for the first time on this beautiful wedding. I'm a little nervous as to how it will work since I have no clue how to balance it. I'd also like to thank Costas of www.digitalremix.net for letting us borrow his wide angle lens. Joseph is in charge of a lot of the footage taken so props to him for working with an unbalanced glidecam! Josephine wasn't able to make it out but was fortunate enough to substitute me at my nephew's birthday party. I had told him before that I would make it but I knew Diem could use a helping hand. So a huge thanks goes out to Josephine for subbing for me. Tracy was working today but she was with us inside of Joseph's heart... not physically.

I don't know Tony and Vicky but after spending their wedding day with them, I've come to find out that they have some of the funniest personalities around. It's almost hilarious to see them so serious in some of these photos but as you'll see in the trailer teaser video that they are quite animated. They were a blast to work with and Diem is also a blessing to be the lead photographer. It was great to watch him work and do what he does. Diem, thanks a lot for giving JHP the opportunity to help you out. There wasn't any rain that could've stopped us from getting our shots that day. Luckily... we didn't have to put that mentality to the test. Props, God.

May 14, 2009: Henna Party.

This was our first time covering a Henna Party. It was very interesting and there was just so much going on we wound up taking so many photos. Editing and filtering it all was a blast. The ink artist did a wonderful job and I really wanted us to do a really good job covering what was going on. I think everyone did a wonderful job. I'd like to thank Danh Phan (www.DanhPhan.com) for helping us book the event and special thanks to the entire JHP crew for doing a great job, Josephine, Joseph and Tracy.

May 8, 2009: UIW Pinning Ceremony.

Ahh, t'is the season for graduation! This year, we congratulate the University of Incarnate Word's Nursing School Class of 2009. The small class of 21 students were pinned on this day to symbolize their welcome into the honorable profession of nursing. Thanks to Michelle Jante, a graduating student from UIW Nursing school, for giving JHP the opportunity to cover their ceremony.

It was your typical hot San Antonio Friday afternoon, but we were all able to take refuge from the heat thanks to the beautiful Motherhouse Chapel where the small class of students were pinned. I'd like to thank Josephine and Joseph for all their help covering the ceremony. I really wanted a big class photo following the ceremony but no one was feeling it. So without further ado, here are some highlights.

May 6, 2009: Timmy's Shoot.

Josephine's pink LG phone rings. She gets to the phone, "Hello?" It's her good friend Timmy. He's in his last yeah of pharmacy school at UH and needs some graduation photos taken. After some scheduling talks, we meet up. Once again, Hermann Park finds a way to please and serve us for Timmy's portraits. There's only so much of this place I can recycle, so I suppose it's time to make it look different YET AGAIN!

Josephine is working with students today. Tracy and Joseph weren't able to make it out either. So I called my photography friend Evan to come help out a bit. This was also a good opportunity for him to learn a few lighting techniques and just get a chance to see how we operate behind the scenes. However, he was working too and just wasn't going to be able to make it on time since he works out there off of 290 and the traffic is usually insane! So I ran the show solo for a while. I just went back to basics: no lighting gear, no assistance. It was just Timmy, me and the camera.

After about 30 minutes or so Evan arrived, so we quickly started to set up the lighting toys and about an hour later, Josephine came out to help as well. So I'd like to thank Josephine and Evan for all their help during this shoot. I'd also like to thank Timmy for taking direction so well. It was pretty hot out there and he had his full cap and gown on!

May 2, 2009: Maria + Quyen's Wedding.

I've known Maria since before I could remember. She's a family friend of mine and our moms go way back. Her wedding was a blast to attend! That's right! Josephine and I actually had to opportunity to ATTEND a wedding instead of working. Not that work is even bad anyway, but it was nice to be at a wedding that we could finally relax and just be guests. It was a beautiful wedding, not to mention a really really fun one! We got to see old friends from back at St. Thomas and the food was great of course... Kim Son!! Of course I couldn't resist bringing the camera to get some shots of my own.

April 25, 2009: Gayelynn + Eric's Wedding.

The four of us hop into Tracy's car and head north. Why? Today we're going to Lake Livingston to shoot Gayelynn and Eric's wedding. It was a long trip, a hot day, but such a crazy party wedding! It was a very laid back wedding and the food was simply delicious. That's really the only detail I can still remember. This couple was such a delight to work with. I'd like to thank Chester for helping us book the wedding, Joseph, Tracy and Josephine for all their help and coverage. Especially thanks to Joe for his video efforts, they REALLY really enjoyed the video! I never got around to making a trailer of it. So here are just the photos instead.

April 24, 2009: Pulaski's Family Portraits.

Josephine, Joseph and I stroll up to the huge wooden and glass doors. I ring the doorbell nervously. I've never met the Pulaskis before although this is probably Josephine's 100th trip down this long walk way. Josephine was as calm as ever and I was just a little nervous meeting and shooting the family for the first time. Let's just say I warmed up to them quite quickly. This always helps in any photoshoot. In pharmacy, the patient/doctor relationship is so bonding and full of trust. I felt this same bond with the family. They entrusted me to great pictures and I trusted them to help me make it happen. Much special thanks to the entire Pulaski family, Josephine for getting the gig, and of course Joseph for all his help through the shoot.

April 5, 2009: Melody's Family Portraits.

The sound of bare feet running across a cold stone floor accompanies a symphony of children laughing and picking fun at each other which oscillates in my ears. I'm carrying the lighting bag over my left shoulder as my right shoulder takes care of the camera bag. Joseph carries other miscellaneous photographic materials through the house as we enter from a cool spring breeze somewhere in the city of Houston. Yes, there are no April showers to spoil this day. It's just another day at the Melody's residence. The only difference is today, we raid their beautiful home with thousands in equipment to set up for what should be a very very interesting family photoshoot . Kids aren't always too happy when you take away from their day to sit and pose in front of a camera. Good thing this bunch isn't your ordinary don't-take-my-picture-group! This is me and Josephine with the Melodys... It's fun time.

March 20, 2009: Bethany's Bridal Shoot.

Hey guys,

This is Bethany. She's pretty much the nicest person on the planet. She's not only a classmate with me at the pharmacy school, but also a good friend now! We took her bridal portraits at the awesome looking Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas. She wanted the rustic country theme and this place delivered! It was a beautiful day to get some bridals done. It wasn't too hot, not too cold, the air was dry since it was San Antonio. It just could NOT be any more perfect. The lady that showed us around the resort gave us some issues over the phone, but turned out to be a really nice lady. I'd really like to thank Joseph and Tracy for making the trek out to San Antonio and surprising us to lend a helping hand. They also stayed out there for HOURS helping us. I'd like to thank Bethany for putting up with all our posing directions and I'd like to thank Josephine for being next to me the whole time!

March 10, 2009: Quyen's Shoot.

This started out as an interesting little shoot that went fantastic. Anthony gave me a call asking if I could help him out with a shoot and of course I said yes because Anthony's awesome like that. Well we met up Quyen at Hermann Park and decided to use a different area of it to make it look like a completely different shoot than the other ones. I think we did a fantastic job and I'd like to thank Anthony and Joseph for all their help and support. Quyen needed these shots for her portfolio as she is an aspiring model and Anthony needed these shots since he's an aspiring photographer! Ahh, yet another symbiotic relationship and I was glad to assist. Here's a little video I put together with the help of Joseph's footage. We hope you guys enjoy it.

March 7, 2009: Maia + Mark's Wedding.

Thanks to Costas from www.digitalremix.net we were given the amazing opportunity to assist him in shooting this beautiful wedding. Maia and Mark are such a lively couple who always seem to be laughing and cracking jokes. Their wedding was a small quaint ceremony held at Vargos here in Houston, Tx. February 27, 2009: A'ja's Shoot.

So we received a call from a frantic friend in need of some quick snapshots to use as headshots for a modeling audition. She is a good friend of mine from Pharmacy school so I thought it would be a nice to help her out. As it turns out, she got the part and is now working for a local modeling agency in San Antonio, Texas! Congratulations, A'ja! Big huge thanks to Josephine and Joseph for making the trip to help with the shoot. Here are some of the shots that we enjoyed the most.

February 21, 2009: The Khalic Family.

It was a beautiful warm winter day as we sought out to the Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio, Tx. The wind was cool, the air was dry, it was a perfect day for a family shoot. The Khalic family warmed up to us quickly and were able to loosen up for the shoot. They were so pleasant and fun to work with. After the shoot was over, we shot Kendra's graduation portraits. The Japenese Tea Garden was busy with other photographers and just people taking pictures. It was so lively and such a pretty place to work at.

February 21, 2009: Kendra's Graduation Shoot.

We'd like for you all to meet Kendra. She's a graduating senior from Schulenburg High School Class of 2009! We took her senior portraits as well as her family portraits at the San Antonio, Texas Japanese Sunken Gardens. This is a beautiful little park located near the San Antonio Zoo. We all had a blast and Kendra was so fun and easy to work with. This shoot really brought me back to my graduation days since my high school has the same colors! February 7, 2009: The Guajardo Family Shoot.

This is the Guajardo Family. They are a lovely and lively family who just wanted to get together and have some fun with a few photographers. The weather was good to us as well as Hermann Park. Josephine and Tracy were also a great help during this shoot as well. I'd like to thank Anthony Trang for coming out and giving us a hand also... Kids can be a HANDFUL but these kids were just so much fun. Yes, it's three boys and one little girl. The boys are just so protective of her it is really cute and funny! These are a few I thought turned out really nice.

January 11, 2009: Reena + Noel's Engagement Shoot.

Let's ring in the new year with new toys and new photos... and how about a blog!! We acquired a new camera for the 2009 season. I'd like for you guys to meet Nikon's latest and greatest (as of January 2009... we know this will SOON change), the D700. I couldn't be more excited than to use it for the first time on Reena and Noel. Thanks to Costas from www.digitalremix.net, we were given the opportunity to help with this shoot and obtain some shots for ourselves. Costas gets good help and I get to play with my new gear. It's a great symbiotic relationship! This couple was so fun to work with and we appreciate Reena for being such a good sport since it was FREEZING OUTSIDE! Special thanks and props to Josephine for keeping her warm in between takes! Let's get to the shots!
